The Alpaca Book by Eric Hoffman & Murray Fowler, DVM. This is perhaps the best "Alpaca 101" resource available with chapters covering everything from fencing and feed to toenail trimming. A must have for any aspiring alpaca owner.
Medicine and Surgery of South American Camelids: Llama, Alpaca, Vicuna, Guanaco by Murray E. Fowler, DVM. The definitive veterinary resource text for Alpaca owners, it contains descriptions and pictures of everything you don't ever want to see on your farm! Fortunately it also covers the treatments for those same ailments.
Llama and Alpaca Neonatal Care by Bradford B. Smith, Karen I. Timm, and Patrick O. Long. Filled with useful flow charts, this how-to manual will help guide the new breeder through the birth of their first crias whether they are routine or not. This book is always required reading for the farm-sitters whenever we are away at shows!
