CCNF Silken Damask

ARI: 31197731
COLOR: Bay Black
BORN: 5/11/08

AWARDS: 1st Place-2009 NAAS
1st Place-2009 Empire Extravaganza

DESCRIPTION: Though mostly known for being a son of our black Futurity Champion Herdsire, CCNF Cameron, Damask derives an equal amount of his pizzaz from his dam, CCNF Andean Silk, one of our foundation females and herself a former show Champion and an alpaca heretofore known mostly for being the dam of the CCNF twins: Satin & Lace. Of course since that time Andean Silk produced not just the young Herdsire in question but also his full sister, Tanzania, who was a consistent Championship winner throughout 2011 and 2012, retiring to our foundation herd after winning her last banner at the Futurity. Let's just say that those genetics seem to meld well.

In fact the females from both sides of Damask's lineage play a prominent role in the specimen we see before us. It is impossible for those of us who knew her not to see Camburi's (Cameron's TB dam) essence in her grandson. The combination of uniform fineness and near complete lack of visible medulation is a trait directly attributable to his paternal granddam and one that we value highly. Of course credit must also be given to the other powerhouse Champions in his pedigree as well: Snowmass Nova (Cameron's sire) and Snowmass Andean Bronze (Andean Silk's sire) both of whom bring their fleece characteristics--particularly the density in Nova's case--to bear in this striking young Herdsire. Damask is a now a proven Herdsire with his first crias born in 2011.

STUD FEE: $2,500
